View Full Version : Otaku-Streamers spreading?└┐

└┐ So I think that Otaku-Streamers should get together with a manga website like onemanga.com or something. It'd bring many more visits to the website, not just from those of us who enjoy anime but also from others who prefer certain mangas over their anime counter-parts. Thus allowing O_S to run better, and opening them up to more people who may donate to the site aswell. I thought I'd ask others though if this idea would be of any value to O_S or not? So what do you all think?? └┐

I agree, adding mangas one way or the other would be a great asset.

However I see one huge drawback with fusing with onemanga or any of the other manga sites. I haven't as of yet found one decent manga site without adds, so for OS to merge with any of these sites, even if it is just adding a banner on both sites linking them together, OS could easily become just another add on the site.
But in all honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Jim made another sister site to OS or added a manga tab on the front page :P Lets face it there isn't a whole lot of things left that can be added to OS.

Great idea!!! do a lil OS advertising. Personally i dont think One Manga is too bad with the adds. But I do see your point. It would suck if OS started allowing ads just for the sake of manga. But a good idea worth looking into non-the-less

Well, its a good idea, but i'd only do it if you get the option to bulk download like volumes at a time, or at least a group of chapters together. because Mangafox and Onemanga both provide the ability to read, but NEITHER provide the ability to download them as far as i know, so we'd be pioneering that! As for direct-read manga on OS, its an ok idea i guess... but i dont know..

If for some reason manga is added to the OS site I would suggest that only the scanned raws be provided. With a little practice they are not that hard to read and to me any way the translated versons are often screwed up ....

Our original intent was to have manga as well and for those who remember our first welcome message - it mentioned manga as well.

However, we are struggling with both the management and the cost of running this site with anime only so we scrapped the whole manga idea for the moment. However since it was part of our original plan - its not gone away, just on the back burner.

We did consider being affiliated with Mangafox and OneManga but we cant seem to get them interested in us. Maybe we are too small at the moment :18: And as Jade says - we will just be a banner amongst heaps of other adverts.

Who knows - if OmouKajuu.net brings in the cash (which is still not happening :2:) we can expand OS to include manga as well :1:

yeah its a nice idea but otaku-"STREAMERS" its streaming so i guess there would be some changes in the site but if it would only add its really a better idea...

so that i dont need to go to onemanga just to read the lates updates...

hahahahah cool suggestion..

Regarding adding manga to OS I see one major problem.
Currently the refresh rate on OS is rather low, now while that isn't much of a problem when you just browsing forums and watching anime it proves quite a problem when reading manga, having to wait too long for the next page to load is a major turn-off.
Perhaps it could be solved by allowing an entire chapter to load at the time, but I guess that would provide some technical problems.

I agree with jadeliciousdk. It takes forever to load screens and while the videos still load fast, reading manga would be a whole different story. Waiting the 1 or 2 minutes it takes to change a screen for each page would be ridiculously boring. I still think it would be cool to have an all in one site for my anime/manga needs but for right now just going back and forth isnt a big deal.

I like this site, so much that I plan to donate on pay day. My only concern though is that if this site get much bigger through onemanga and such sites, that it will raise the risk of it being shutdown. Is that a legit concern or am I over worrying?

woops, posted this on my brother's account x_x

nice job slaver..

but once again, if we had the option to not only read, but download manga, i think it would be a good idea

Why not have a manga download section ?
Or add manga downloads to Os's sister site ?
I wouldn't mind finding and uploading manga to either megaupload or Mediafire
But to save problems in the future it would have to be unlicensed manga :)

A manga Section sounds nice....
Online Viewing and Download...

Although That thing with refresh rate does bother me....

So what about Tippeddoor's idea like hosting them on a different site?
but on the other hand... " Online View " still affects the Site's load speed right?

So is the Download option better? :emhh15:

http://omoukajuu.info/ is Os's Sister site that jim set up to try and gain some money for Os :)
Its purely anime & anime music downloads, and having a Manga viewer on Os would be slow and blah.... for now ;)
So Why not just have manga download links on Omoukajuu for now ?
It may bring more people to Omoukajuu = more money for Os + Because they are only links it shouldn't take up much of Os's precious space :D

A Manga Section Would be Nice,

Since I'm always here in OS, I always watch Anime here, and much more if theres a Manga, then probably I'll never ever leave OS and go to other Sites. OS is the Best Anime Website for me xD

It is a good thing to advertise this site in a social networking sites. Having a manga section would be nice since I am starting to appreciate manga too.
