School days!!! lolz (nice boat)
Manga = try 1)shishi doumei cross
2)NaNa (if you really want drama try this one)
3)Skiped beat (more or less its a good anime both in manga and anime)
4)Confidential confessions (very psychological and etc. but its kinda difficult to find)
5)Bitter Virgin (Also very good slice of life/drama)
my favorite genre are love-comedy, drama, slice of life and psychological mostly the ones i read........ recently?

If you want something similar to pastel you should try to read
Kimi no Iru Machi
or
Umi no misaki
The first has a bit more drama, the latter is a bit more to the comedy side

If you're looking for a great in the Gender Bender genre then...
Ranma 1/2; Rumiko Takahashi (Author of Inuyasha and Urusei Yatsura)
and the lesser known...
Futaba-kun Change!!; Hiroshi Aro.
Both are very good with a mix of Martial Arts and Comedy (Though the latter is more slapstick and less Action while the former is a bit more serious in the MA aspect)
