Hmmmm - didnt have anyone for the last couple of years and hated the whole commercial hype where everyone talked about the flowers and chocolates they got or the dinner plans they made. But this time, its a Saturday, so will curl up in bed with a good book or chat on OS ....

Problem is, this world has made up such a big hype about Valentine's day that it can be a very sad day for those who are alone

It will be one of the only days this week I get to see my boyfriend since we're really busy with classes, exams, and he has graphics projects to work on.

And, since I felt like surprising him, I'm doing the whole nine yards, so to speak:
- I made him a music box
- I'm going to put together a chocolate mousse pie
- There are tons of roses in the back yard with his name on them
- I'm making a homemade book/card out of coffee-stained paper
- I'm giving him some glowsticks (it's a long-running joke)

As for actual things to do, I have no idea. Probably just eating pie and watching movies, though he has a secret plan, or so I was told.

I mean, roses only last like a couple weeks
and that's if you leave them in water
and they really only exist to be pretty
so that's like saying
"my love for you is transitory and based solely on your appearance"
but a potato!
potatoes last for ****ing ever, man
in fact, not only will they not rot, they actually grow even if you just leave
that part alone makes it a good symbol
but there's more!
there are so many ways to enjoy a potato! you can even make a battery with it!
and that's like saying " I have many ways in which I show my love for you"
and potatoes may be ugly, but they're still awesome
so that's like saying "it doesn't matter at all what you look like, I'll still love you"






As for myself... working on website and doing some research between jaunts on Otaku-Streamers (it's a really good site check it out ;) ... *double sigh*, I could use a potato

We'll see what happens on Valentine's Day. My crush wanted to go down to one of the local bars and grab a drink or two with some buddies to keep her from thinking too much that day, and I would love to go along and hang out for the fun of it, but no sooner than she announces that plan, the next morning she says she might be going to girls only sleepover. But, she doesn't know when that is, so she doesn't know if she can do both.

So I'm just waiting on that.

Indeed, it's still a ways off til the next Valentines day. But I find there is too much emphasis on commercializing a good message about paying attention to that person you care about. But the pressure that on that day here are expectations yada yada... Not fair. Live your life sincerely, and if you have someone special to favor on valentines day, don't wait until then to let them know you appreciate them
