I like Anime soundtracks too...my favourites are still the OSTs from the ARIA series....
if you want some recommendations...here are mine:

ARIA the Animation / Natural / Origination
- great string trio by Chorio Club
- relaxing and unique
- every track counts, unlike most Anime OSTs

Rozen Maiden (OST + Traumend)
- baroque themed
- i like the harpsichord
- unique too, strong characteristic

True Tears
- you'll like the mellow tunes

Sketchbook ~Full Colors~
- slow paced, some relaxing tunes
- gotta like the bells (vibraphone, marimba) and piano
- pretty upbeat

Katekyoshi Hitman Reborn (OST I, II & III)
- all-rounded with many different styles
- gotta like the brass action
- piano goodness in hibari theme

Jigoku Shoujo (OST + Futakomori)
- gets you into the mood
- Aizome piano version pretty sad

you should definately buy AI YORI AOSHI 'S SOUNDTRACKS.
i love it, it has japanese intrumentals. yoko ishida's songs are nice too.
- slow and melancholy violin accompanied by the Hiroyuki Koike strings and piano
- prominent clarinet and piano playing
- A sad piccolo
-Narada-style keyboard synths
-a nice sweet collection of instrumentals, some romantic, others relaxing, some bleak, others brisk, and others manic.

Gotta say that the Gundam 00 sound track is pretty nice. I like all the openings, endings, and insert songs. I'd say ash like snow is my favorite XD

Also got to say my favorite song is still the OPening of Tales of the Abyss. I like how they kept the game opening as the opening for the anime. Karma by Bump of Chicken. :D

My all time favorite anime song has to be 'The Light Before We Land' from Gunslinger Girls.
Couldn't stop myself once I heard that song.
I believe I downloaded that song before I actually watched the first episode of GG's.

Second fav's I heard was from the ending of Vampire Knight.
Kanon Wakeshima's 'Still Doll'.
After I heard that, I invested in the album.

Only one I have is Kanon Wakeshima's "Shinsuke Dolce" album, because I couldn't get over 'Still Doll' from Vampire Knights.

Anyways, I go by artists.
Some I love are:

Yoko Kanno:
Mostly for her unbelievable works in GITS, Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop and Earth Girl Arjuna. Also, she's done many collabs with music artists such as Origa, Maaya Sakamoto, Ilaria Graziano, Steve Conte, Megumi Nakajima, Emily Curtis and Crystal Kay.

Megumi Nakajima
For her works in Macross Frontier. Her various styles and beats really stood out from all others.

Love these guys. They always fulfill my japanese rap needs. Found out about them when I was watching Samurai Champloo and had to have 'Battlecry'.
