hmm I like all the choices you guys made!!!
But personally if I was on the brink of death in a battle, the music in the background would be something that gets my own blood boiling. Kind of like a pick-yourself-up and keep on going till the end!! song xD
Things that have a lot more meaning lol... thats why I choose "the meaning of birth" from the Tales of the Abyss soundtrack. Its... not very epic but... it had a very memorable scene from the game. The close second for me was the "fighting of the spirits" version from Tales of Symphonia.

Thats depends on how I were to go down.. But I would probaly go for Beethoven's Symphony number 5. I'm not normally into Beethoven because he tends to be a bit depressing. But his symphony number 5, which goes by the name "The Destiny Symphony" in my country, is beautiful yet very sad, so I find it very apropiate since I would be dying :emhh47:

hmm well... idk, there's ALLOT of songs out there that might fit a `Fighting to the Death` type of thing >.>... (but maybe not that many would be MY kind of fighting >:}, a friend of mine saw me in a fight once and said,... "if the all of the world turned up side down, kinda like resident evil kind of world, and you ended up dieing some how ", (this is the part were I punched him on the top of his head :P sue me, " hehe, you'd die with g#d know's what weapon in your hands", idk if he was making fun of me or not tho >_>, hmm I'll go through some of the songs I have on my mp3 and psp, and see if any of them would `fit`,>:D, that category XD lol

If it was some epic fight id probably want something with a massive amount of bass and something that got me pumped. But if it was my funeral i would want something that started out like classical and slow than suddenly start like rocking out just to have people be thinking what nice music than suddenly be like OMG WTH!?! when it switchs sorta like One (always hardcore)

I was imagining some beatiful fighting scene, with the underlaying music hinting the unavoidable downfall :( Not just slowmotion as DKP said, but rather dynamic creating a fighting-scene that almost resembles dance, like from the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.. The scene would be beatiful yet unbareble tragic just like the music
