Luffy and Ace???? plz help...

What is with Luffy's family? How is he related to Ace? or how can his dad be dragon and Ace's be Gold D. Roger... when his wife died to give birth to Ace... plz help

it is not yet clear what Eichiro Oda's intentions are with the manga. But assumingly that Vice Admiral Garp kept the truth from the world so that he can protect Gold D. Roger's son from harm. Unfortunately he is always at work so he can't monitor both Luffy and Ace.

Garp has some hints in previous chapters though. He did not say that Ace and Luffy are brothers so something was really wrong at that time. Eichiro Oda made us ride that distracting Rob Lucci incident and also the stronger Coby and Helmetto. That guy must have some advanced character building 101 engine in his brain. So far i never saw anyone (anime or not) who has the mind capability like him to generate new characters every week or so.
Not to mention his drawings in manga(anime fails bad in drawing). Have you noticed that none of the extras look the same?
Also the extras are drawn properly. Not unlike other anime which they blur them making them as many as possible.


But i really wished that Luffy is the only bad seed though. It could have been far better if Garp was instead an admiral and Dragon is one of the leaders of CP10 while Luffy is a pirate rebelling his old traditions haha.

Roger is Ace's True dad (since he claims whitebeard is his pops)... the last chapter showed that when Roger was caught he asked garp that he should take care of ace( he said that his son should not bear his sins) and garp ADOPTED ACE.. Monkey D. Dragon is luffy's father but his connection to garp is what i dont know...

well maybe Roger and Dragon are somewhat connected cause they have the same D... gol D rogers and monkey D dragon... so what are the odds... its a manga for christ sake

dude i know that. it is just you replied on my comment that was way too old. so that is why it was still assumingly.

I saw the latest manga and yes it is cool. however Dragon is still out of the picture and so is red hair shanks meaning the author still has another purpose for those guys.

I really like how Oda used words like "We and luffy have the blood of a world criminal." he says when he was talking to garp. But the meaning wasnt clear in earlier chapters. so many would assume that they were siblings. But i still wonder why Garp wears the black suit of the Cipher Pol though?

hmmmm... Ace and Luffy aren't real brothers.. though they did something that they consider as being brothers. They grew up together, so technically, Ace takes care of him and treats him like his li'l brother. They're not blood related but they're real brothers. ^^

luffy is Mokey D. Dragon's son and Garp is his grandfather

Ace is Roger's son and his mother's name is Portgas D. Rouge

Roger asked Garp to take care of Ace when he was imprisoned

Rouge miraculously kept Ace in her for 24 months and so that the marine wont kill him

Garp took Ace and raised him with luffy

Ace and luffy exchanged sake's cuz they believed they would be brothers if they did

so... their not related by blood but their kinda like step brothers

Luffy and Ace are sworn brothers. They are not blood related.
Portgas D Rouge was Gol D Roger's wife. When roger died, marines wanted to kill all related people to roger
so they hunted down Rouge and the rumored baby. Rouge then kept Ace in her womb for 18 monts (if I recall correctly)
As for Luffy, all I know is, he is the son of dragon. Dragon being the son of garp.
