I'm fully prepared to get flamed for this but I have two characters that I find insufferably annoying. Honestly, both of these characters got on my nerves so bad that I wasn't able to bear more than one episode of their respective shows. I respect that other people love these shows and characters to death, but for the life of me I can't understand why.

1.) Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Absolutely everything about her annoys me--well, except for that her character design is kind of cute in a generic way. Her seiyuu, Aya Hirano, is obnoxious and the way Haruhi treats her "friends" is horrendous. What makes it worse is that she's fully cognizant of her behavior and does nothing to change it.

2.) Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece. I find him only slightly less annoying that Haruhi. I don't like characters that seem like they're constantly screaming, or ones whose eyes constantly look like they're about to pop out of their head. The only thing about him that keeps him from being on Haruhi's level, in my opinion, is the fact that I understand his character to be extremely loyal to his friends. However, his over-the-top antics just disgust me for some reason--especially when it comes to food. I think it's intolerable to me because I know people who act that piggish in real life.
