Spam Bot Alert!!!!!!!

Not sure if you would have noticed it, but these last two week or so, we have been hit by Spammers every single day. Its just been good that either Russ or I have been around and been able to stop them before they flooded OS with their garbage


However, there may be a time when Jim, Chiva, Russ or myself may not be online

Therefore if there are any volunteers who are on line and checking the forums between 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Philippines time (GMT+8) pls post here. We will need your help to alert us if you see any spam threads popping up!!

Hmmmm ... Ok - maybe I am getting the wrong message across XD.

We are talking of Bots coming in and pasting posts advertising their products on every single thread. Just random adverts on all the threads on every forum. Its not only annoying, it can cause problems with our CPU usage. In addition they include a link to other sites and in one instance the site linked was not PG-13!

These sort of posts can bring in virus' and get us blacklisted so we need to kill them as soon as they pop up by banning the user name and deleting the posts

Thats what i had in mind too. but there are no spam bots seen here in os for the past weeks... But we should not let our guards down and still keep an eye open .... well i can do an 11:am till 7:30 Evening watch...

yeah i saw one who did this kind of things maybe coldfire's account has been hacked because i see him posting many downloadable programs.... i am not sure if it is him...

Actually they are not giving effort... its just like a virus.. it works on its own.. its just the programmers problem.. either a cracker or a hacker so lets just keep a watch on these posts

dood that is just me... its not spam... its a good article... read it sometimes
